Do’s and Don’ts

DO:

Exfoliate the area the night before.

Arrive with clean, dry skin.

Grab a light pain reliever on your way out the door to help ease discomfort.

Avoid drinking alcohol or caffeine before your appointment.

Avoid retinol or chemical exfoliants in the days leading up to your appointment.

DON’T:

Shave/tweeze for 2-4 weeks. A happy medium of hair length is about a 1/4 of an inch.

Forget to use sunscreen as your skin may be more sensitive to the sun.

Don’t keep your appointment if there is an abrasion, cut, or inflammation in the area to be waxed.

Get a spray tan for at least 48 hours.

AFTER WAXING:

For the first 24-48 hours, avoid direct heat and/or sunlight to the freshly waxed area. This may include a hot shower or bath, tanning or intense exercise.

Exfoliation is key! This will keep the skin from bumps or ingrowns. Loofah gloves, a dry brush or products with salicylic acid, benzoyle peroxide are a few recommendations for maintenance in between wax appointments.

Keep your first Brazilian a secret for at least 24 hours. Avoid any friction activities such as intercourse, bike riding, horseback, etc.
